Energy

Energy prices are soaring!

I have spent the morning entering the costs of various plans into a spreadsheet to see which works out best (if you'd like a copy of the Excel file send me an email - see About me).

So it's onto E.ON Save Online9 for us at a cost of some £70-£80 quid a month.

Where are those candles?

We switched to E.on SaveOnLine 3 in November. Was paying £96 pm with Southern and Scottish(S&S) previously. E.on was £77 pm dual (gas and leccy). From September it rises to £93 pm. I suppose can't grumble as saved £19 a month for 9 month and a £200 refund from S&S.

However, I suspect the main factor in lower costs or more correctly the bill not going up earlier and by more has been the realisation that a tumble dryer is a money pit.

Will no doubt be looking around for better deals when this contract finishes end October.

Good luck with yours.

Candles? I reckon it would be cheaper to burn £20 notes.

Marginalia: My daughter would contend that digital TV's use more juice too. I wish I could use some of the leccy wasted at school by folk leaving PCs on and other things on standby.

Steve: I have not investigated the price of candles recently; sounds as if I should.
