I phoned the blood service last week to see if my recent operation excludes me from giving blood. It does, until January 2012.
Imagine my surprise to be phoned today and asked to make an appointment. I was not best pleased; surely these people have computers and the computers tell the workers the correct information!
I have made a complaint (because I am a very petty, small minded person) and expect these people to be more efficient in future.

It is not the computers but those operating them. GIGO as the old computer maxim used to go.
Steve: No excuse for having out of date lists. They ought to be looking on a screen!
