Bones

I have had a short break as school is on an 'Exeat'.  I drove to Chandler's Ford to hear Bones Apart, a trombone quartet of very talented ladies.  They were in a concert with Otterborne Brass who were also rather good.  One could tell, however, that most of the band were simply gobsmacked at the virtuosity of the quartet.

You only have to watch this to find out why.  Those in the know will tell you that lip trills are not easy!  Helen Vollam plays one at 2:27.  There are others.  I love the expression Jayne Murrill has right at the end.

That's an impressive pair of lips!

What fun! Trombone was my first brass instrument, and my 'bone is one of the few instruments I still have around. Stars and Stripes? Another fav. Masterful playing? (mistressful? *heh* But you are correct that those lip trills are difficult to play well) Big plus.

Just a whole big buncha fun. Thanks!
