When does a tyre need inflating? When the pressure is low.
Not according to a certain tyre company. My wife went to the local depot to have a puncture repaired although it turned out that they had to replace the tyre; I don't have a problem with that and I had given her a guide price of £50.00.
They do their blasted Vehicle Health Check to see if they can screw you for any more dosh. Here are some results.
As you can see the Before and After pressure of all 4 tyres (even the one with the puncture!) was 28. Why then was Mrs TS charged for the Nitrogen inflation of four tyres?
Oh yes and what about the charge of £32.99 for wheel alignment? As they always do, they offered to check her alignment for free. Guess what! It was out and needed resetting. I had told Mrs TS that they would try to sell her other goods and services but she is inexperienced in these matters and allowed the work.
Grand total for a nail in a tyre including VAT = £96.94. F*@k me!
I have emailed to complain. I will let you know the outcome.

Highway robbery!
The link to the AA (http://tiny.cc/3bkyz)points out that once tyres are filled with nitrogen the benefit (if any) is lost unless the next time you also use nitrogen. Total rip-off!
I always use the local garage for all things "car". I do the full "I'm a hopeless woman" act and then insist that nothing is done without a phone call to my husband. This seems to stop any unnecessary work being done, but it has resulted in me having to listen to stop very carefully explained explanations as to work that has been done.Acting "blonde" can have its benefits.
Steve: you are such a wit.
Marginalia: I will look at that.
DA: So you ARE a lady!
I hate this kind of thing. Be sure to let the business know you will personally recommend that friends and acquaintances go elsewhere if you do not have a satisfactory response from them.
David: I will.
I don't know that you could describe me as a lady but i'm definitely all woman!
DA: Oooo!
